OKEA and Cegal have selected iO Data as their trusted partner for physical storage of data related to the fields and licenses in OKEA’s portfolio.
In addition, the indexed physical data and the digital data provided by Cegal will be available for OKEA’s end users in iO Surface and iO Archive accessed via Cegal’s Cloud Portal.
iO Data is responsible for secure storage of the physical assets related to the Draugen field, operated by OKEA. This includes seismic and well data on tapes, reports, original logs, core samples, frozen cores, pictures, videos and so on.
These data will be indexed into the new Records Management tool iO Archive where it is searchable, traceable and ready to be ordered. iO Surface will be used as a map-based front-end application to allocate all data. It will contain seismic data, well data, cores (including pictures of the cores), fluid samples, logs, reports, subsea and topside inspection videos from ROV’s and drones. The videos can be displayed directly in the map viewer. Furthermore, iO Surface will show the NPD and DISKOS data as separate layers in the front-end. Seismic data and other digital data provided by Cegal will be included and are searchable.
This means that the user will have all data from all sources available through one map interface, use predefined or customized filters and find information about where the data is stored. For the subsurface personnel, this represents an improved and efficient way of working with complex data, without having to search through several interfaces and different locations.
iO Data software will be fully integrated with GeoCloud, Cegal’s cloud solution for E&P. GeoCloud delivers high-performance IT systems and software solutions for advanced geoscience applications and data. Both iO Data applications will be available from Cegal’s Cloud Portal.
In addition to indexing, the capture of physical data is done using pictures. This puts OKEA in a unique and favorable position, being prepared for AI and Machine Learning on all their physical assets.
With the current focus on digitalization, we are pleased that OKEA and Cegal acknowledge the potential in iO Data and their application integration to GeoCloud and chose iO Data as a trusted partner on this digital journey. We are pleased to be working together to present this state-of-the-art database taking advantage of the current digital benefits and those to come.
Cegal will be presenting this solution to the industry on the DigEx Conference in Oslo, 31st of January 2019
