The challenging moving project was carried out for iO Data and included several million active and critical archive objects which together amounted to over 200 tonnes. The archive contained a lot of technical documentation, geodata, paper, video, photographs and, among other things, magnetic tape.
The archive was in full operation during the entire project, which only took three weeks. Not only did the archive owner get a full review and quality control of such a large archive, but the move entailed a very efficient and full review of the entire archive, full implementation of barcodes and QR codes plus a new and modern archive system for all digital and physical archive material.
Managing director Andreas Heldal-Lund says that iO Data chose Logi Trans for this project because they have a documented focus on quality and it was critical that the transport was safe and efficient. – We are very satisfied with the implementation and that the timetable was respected. We look forward to more such projects together with Logi Trans, both nationally and internationally. We have been able to demonstrate that our in-house developed software, technology and procedures can quickly carry out very large moving projects on active archives without affecting the archive’s operations. Customers get a much better service, at a better price and not least a much better and more accessible overview of their entire archive.
